Genie Joseph, PhD

Meet our Founder

Genie Joseph MA, MFA, PhD is an Adjunct Professor at Chaminade University in Honolulu. She is an award-winning film director/producer. Her published novel
Love Hawaii Time explores our relationship to time as it relates to love.  She was host of her own TV and radio talk show in Hawaii.


She is the creator of the Act Resilient Training Method, which uses laughter,
improvisational comedy and expressive arts for wellness. Act Resilient has been
presented to over 4,000 Service Members as well as their spouse and children, who have anecdotally reported lowering of stress and an increase in psychologically protective factors.


She is a Human-Animal Bond Specialist and helps to pair veterans with the right
shelter animal for emotional support. Her new book The Act Resilient Method is available on Amazon.  She has written several articles for the Hawaii Army Newspaper, and The Army Medical Journal published an article on Act Resilient.

 

Ms. Joseph was awarded President Obama’s Silver Volunteer Service Award for her work with military families.
